Markets and gastronomy in the Madrid Centro district


Madrid's Centro district can also boast of its great gastronomic offer, capable of delighting the most demanding palates. Among its cobblestone streets and historic buildings are some of the most emblematic markets of the Spanish capital.

San Miguel Market: An essential classic

This is one of the most famous and visited markets in Madrid. Located in the heart of the Downtown District, next to the Plaza Mayor, its architectural structure of iron and glass stands out. Located on Calle Fuencarral, this market is the first vertical Street Food Market in Spain, in the style of the street markets that can be found in cities such as New York, London or Bangkok. It is distributed among three floors and offers a new concept of leisure, enjoyment and socialization around gastronomy, where the public, both local and foreign, will find various proposals of international cuisine of the highest quality. San Antón Market: Fusion of tradition and modernity

Located in Chueca, it stands out for its contemporary architecture and its modern and avant-garde approach. It is distributed in three floors, in the first one we will find a 'traditional' market, with a wide range of fresh products. The second floor consists of several showcooking stalls with a varied culinary offer, from the most traditional and traditional to international proposals. On the third and last floor we find the terrace, with a restaurant area and a bar area, where there is also an area for holding events such as exhibitions, workshops and presentations.
